Description
Peptamen Junior is a nutritionally complete formula for children aged between 1 and 10 years old suffering from malnourishment due to gastrointestinal (GI) diseases/problems and failed to tolerate and/or to thrive on other types of enteral formulae (polymeric or casein-based formula, etc.).
These also include children with very specific dietary needs due to short-term/acute conditions (such as critical illness, e.g., trauma, burn, sepsis, severe infection and large abdominal surgery), or long-term/chronic conditions (e.g., short bowel syndrome, persistent diarrhea, neurological impairment, cystic fibrosis, Crohn’s Disease, HIV/AIDS, and childhood cancer).
The formula contains:
- peptide-based, enzymatically hydrolyzed, 100% whey protein to improve feeding tolerance and gastric emptying
- medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) for an easily available source of energy
