Description
Gaviscon Infant sachets treat gastric regurgitation, gastro-oesophageal reflux and reflux associated with hiatus hernia in infants. This sugar free powder belongs to a group of medicines called relux supressants which form a protective ‘raft’ on top of the stomach contents to prevent stomach acid from escaping into the oesophagus (food pipe) which causes pain and discomfort
Usage
For infants aged 1 to 2 years. Not to be used in premature infants or infants under one year except under medical supervision. For oral used after mixing with water or milk feed. Breast-fed infants: Under 4.5kg (10lb), 1 dose. Over 4.5kg (10lb), 2 doses. Add 5ml of cooled, boiled water to the powder in a glass. Mix to a smooth paste and add another 10ml water to the mix. Give after each feed, using a spoon or feeding bottle. Bottle-fed infants: Under 4.5kg (10lb), 1 dose to be mixed into not less than 115ml of each feed in the bottle and shaken well. Over 4.5kg (10lb) 2 doses to be mixed into not less than 225ml of each feed in the bottle and shaken well.
Ingredients
Each Gaviscon Infant Sachet contains approximately 21mg of Sodium. Also contains: Sodium Alginate 225mg. Magnesium Alginate 87.5mg. Mannitol.
